The operator’s legal identity, privacy contact, retention schedule and international transfer details must be confirmed before this policy is used for a public launch or AdMob consent form.
1. Who we are
Shardworld is a collectible card game presented by Five12 Digital. The organisation responsible for your personal data is [confirm legal controller name and postal address]. For privacy questions or deletion requests, contact [add monitored privacy email].
2. Information we use
Account details: sign-in provider identifiers, email address and profile information supplied through Firebase Authentication, plus your chosen username, avatar and optional profile details. Google or other enabled sign-in providers handle their own login credentials.
Gameplay: owned cards, barcode claims, Original status, decks, XP, progression, match results, trades, friends and other game activity needed to operate your account. Public-facing profile information, rankings and shared card content may be visible to other players.
Camera and uploads: camera access lets you read barcodes. The decoded barcode and reward record are sent to the game service. Images you deliberately upload for supported profile or card features are processed and stored. Confirm the release build’s camera and image handling before publication; do not upload images you lack permission to share.
Technical information: service logs may include IP addresses, request times, error details and identifiers needed for reliability, security and abuse prevention.
3. Why we use information
The proposed lawful bases are contract for delivering accounts, gameplay, purchases and requested social features; legitimate interests for protecting accounts, preventing fraud and maintaining reliable services; consent for advertising technologies where required and any optional marketing; and legal obligation for records that must be kept by law. These bases must be checked against the final release operations.
Account information is needed for online play and saving progress. Optional profile fields are not required. Random reward allocation and matchmaking are game functions; the game is not intended to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Advertising and consent
Shardworld integrates Google AdMob for optional rewarded adverts. Google’s Mobile Ads SDK can process IP addresses, device or account identifiers, ad interactions and diagnostic data for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. The precise processing depends on your device, consent choices and configuration.
Where required, a consent message is shown before ads are requested. You can revisit choices using Ad privacy choices in the game. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing. Reward verification uses your game user identifier and a transaction reference so the service can grant the correct reward and prevent duplicate claims.
See Google’s privacy policy and Google’s advertising information.
5. Purchases
When enabled, Android purchases are processed by Google Play. The game service handles product identifiers, purchase tokens and verification or refund status to deliver entitlements and prevent fraud. It does not need your full payment-card details. Google handles payment information under its own policies.
6. Service providers and other players
The planned release uses Firebase Authentication for sign-in, Railway and MySQL for game hosting and data storage, Google AdMob for ads, and Google Play for purchases. Providers process information according to their roles and terms. We may also disclose information when legally required or necessary to investigate abuse and protect users.
Information you share publicly, trade or attach to shared cards may be seen by other players. Barcode reward identities can be shared between players; this does not mean your private account information is shared with everyone who scans the same code.
7. Storage, transfers and retention
Data may be processed outside the UK by service providers. Before launch, confirm provider regions and applicable safeguards, such as adequacy arrangements or approved contractual protections, and explain how users can obtain details.
Account and gameplay records are retained while needed to provide the service. Transaction and anti-fraud records may need to remain after account closure to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. Backups expire according to the service’s retention schedule. Confirm actual periods for accounts, logs, purchase records and backups before publication.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where processing relies on it.
To request account deletion or exercise these rights, use the privacy contact listed above once confirmed. Identity verification may be necessary. Explain in the final policy which records are deleted, anonymised or retained, and how shared card content is handled.
You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or your relevant local authority.
9. Children
Shardworld is designed for a teen-and-up audience. Confirm the release age requirement, age checks and handling of children’s data before publishing this policy. Do not assume an app-store age rating alone determines eligibility or consent requirements.
10. This website
This static website does not include an analytics tracker, advertising SDK or newsletter form. The hosting provider may process technical request logs. The illustrative battle example runs in your browser and does not create a game account or grant rewards. External links take you to services with their own privacy practices.
11. Changes
This notice will be updated when data practices change. Material changes should also be communicated in the game where appropriate.
